Bromyard gave a good account before bowing out of the Indoor Six-a-Side Cricket Club Champion-ship with a 41-run defeat against holders Madisons in the area semi-finals at Northamptonshire.

Hosts Madisons posted a formidable 154-3 off 12 overs against a spirited bowling attack spearheaded by Darren Ford.

Indeed, Bromyard's players stuck to their task against strong opposition, who had won the tournament for the past two years.

In reply, the Hereford-shire champions fell behind the required run-rate, despite fine knocks from Ed Symonds (29), Owen Thomas (25 not out) and Robbie Symonds (14).

Bromyard eventually closed on 113-5 and the side can be pleased with their efforts in reaching the last 16 of the competition for the second year in succession. Bromyard's other two players were Luke Johnson and Will Symonds.
