THE Downs School will represent Herefordshire in the West of England Schools Under-11 girls hockey tournament at Bristol.
The Colwall-based youngsters earned the right to compete in the tournament when they won the Herefordshire Schools competition staged at Bridge Street Sports Centre, Leominster.
In the semi-final they beat local rivals, The Elms School, on penalties after drawing 1-1 at full-time, and they lifted the title with a closely contested 1-0 win over Hereford Cathedral School.
