Brierley & Hagley 0 Ledbury Town 0
LEDBURY shared the points in an entertaining West Midlands League Premier Division clash after having a goal disallowed.
The early play was even as both teams tried to establish superiority, but Ledbury gradually edged control and went close to breaking the deadlock through Robbie Colwell, twice, and Duncan Preedy.
They should have taken the lead just before the break when Stuart Smith broke through and attempted to chip the advancing goalkeeper when a square pass would have given the supporting Colwell a simple tap-in.
Ledbury stepped up a gear after the break to play some excellent football, but unfortunately this was not matched by their finishing.
Brierley defended with determination to thwart any threats but were fortunate not to concede a penalty when Phil Preedy was bundled over in the box.
Almost immediately Nicky Welsh broke from right midfield and surged into the box, only to see his rasping shot rebound from the top corner of the stanchion, with the referee waving play on, convinced that it had hit a post.
