Ross Town 2 Middle Barton 3
AN EXCELLENT second-half display from Ross failed to rescue a point in Division 1 West of the Cherry Red Records Hellenic League.
Ross made a disastrous start when a visiting striker evaded two weak challenges and provided a simple chance for Martin Kay to score in the second minute.
More ineffective tackling allowed Kay to cross from the left and John Umney outjumped his markers to head in Barton's second goal on 25 minutes.
It got worse for the home side when Keith Harrison was given space by the Ross defenders and he fired in the visitors' third goal.
Stuart Walshe gave Ross hope at the start of the second half by reducing the deficit and then Stuart Parker set up an exciting finish with a second goal on 80 minutes.
