ANIMAL rescuers believed they were trying to make her look like a clown - but it was no laughing matter for Amy the Pomeranian dog.

Little Amy spent a week in the pound after she was found wandering around Leominster with spray paint all over her fluffy coat.

Amy, who is believed to be about four, is now recovering from her ordeal with Debbie Bouston at Emmerson Home Rescue, Bromyard.

Debbie said: "I should think she has had an awful time. She follows me everywhere but it is awful because she needs to go to a proper home."

Vets said that all they could do is to wait for the paint to grow out - which could take up to eight months.

Bursting at seams

A loving home with a retired couple and no other pets would be ideal because Amy is petrified of children, explained Debbie.

Even if Amy gets re-homed tomorrow, Emmerson Home Rescue is still bursting at the seams with all different kinds of four legged friends.

Currently on the list is a 15 month old Jack Russell and her three babies, a four year old West Highland Terrier and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel bitch all waiting to find the perfect home.

They also provide a micro-chipping service with a reduced rate for pensioners - for further information on Amy, or any of the other dogs call Debbie on 01885 488878.
