An outline bid has been submitted to Advantage West Midlands for £1.5 million over 2003-2006.
A shopfront audit, required before an application to the Heritage Townscape Fund, has also been commissioned.
Public consultation starts today.

FEBRUARY/MARCH (2003) - results of funding bids.
APRIL - Start of the three-year implementation programme for city centre regeneration. Year 1 includes lighting schemes, signage, interpretation boards, the clearing of river debris and a Wyeside walk.
Work carried out on detailed designs and working drawings for each key area, quantity surveying, planning applications and liaison with Statutory Bodies.
APRIL (2004) - Year 2 of the scheme. Priorities and timetable set after public consultation is complete in December.
APRIL (2005) - Year 3 of the scheme.
