FORMER Hereford United defender Steve Devine has been appointed physiotherapist of Division 1 promotion hopefuls Nottingham Forest.

The 38-year-old former Northern Ireland youth international will be working at the City Ground alongside first-team physio Gary Fleming.

Devine, who had been at Derby County's academy, was a popular figure at Edgar Street, making 272 appearances for the Bulls between 1986 and 1993.

He also played for Wolves, Derby, Stockport County, Gresley Rovers, Corby and Hednesford Town, where he was later coach.

Forest boss Paul Hart said: "We interviewed for the job and obviously Gary Fleming knew of Steve. He has worked in the academy at Derby and is the right person for the job."
