THE newly-appointed chairman of Hereford United Independent Supporters' Association believes that the Edgar Street club will secure a top-six finish in the Nationwide Conference.
Life-long United fan Keith Dodd is confident that Graham Turner's new-look side will clinch a place in the inaugural end-of-season play-offs.
Dodd, aged 56, said: "The team spirit at the club seems to be excellent and I am very excited about the club's prospects this season. The new coach, Richard O'Kelly, is a very popular figure and there is certainly pace, commitment and determination in the squad.
"John Grant looks a very lively striker, for instance, and I honestly think a top-six finish is not beyond us."
Dodd, who has taken over the position from the retiring Kevin Wargen, runs an entertainment agency at Border Leisure.
He added: "We all know that the club has to repay a £1million loan in May to property developers Chelverton but we are remaining very optimistic about the club's future.
"After May, I believe that United will have a very bright future."
