THE Friends of Herefordshire Museums and Arts will open the 2003 programme with their AGM to be held at the Lion Ballroom, Leominster on Monday March 17 at 7pm. This will be introduced by the retiring chairman, Dennis Sampson, who has been a very active and popular chairman - members will be sorry to see him step down. Following the AGM, at approximately 7.45pm, there will be an illustrated talk by Muriel Tonkin on 'Toll Houses of Herefordshire', free to members, but guests are also most welcome, £2.50. The society is looking forward to further events during the year, particularly the lecture by an authority on old glass, Charles Hajdamach of Dudley Museum. His historical talk '300 years of glass at Stourbridge' will be at Holmer Parish Hall, 11am on Saturday April 26.
