LIFE-LIMITED little ones across three counties are one step closer to having their dreams turned into reality as funding for the Acorns Children Hospice hits the halfway mark.

Fundraisers are 'over the moon' at hitting the £2 million mark - half the total needed to build and equip a new 10-bed hospice benefiting youngsters in Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire.

"We smashed through the £2 million mark on January 8," said Acorns Chief Executive, John Overton.

"This is a fantastic achievement and a tribute to the hard work and generosity of people across the three counties who are backing the new hospice appeal.

"Everyone, from local Acorns families to care staff, fundraisers to supporters, is absolutely delighted that the appeal has gone so well.

"It's such a positive start to the New Year. Now the pressure is on to keep this pace going and the donations coming in to make sure the new hospice opens as planned in 2004."
