THE marginal victory at Kington in the Herefordshire Council election should bode well for townspeople.
Election promises are more than likely to be kept, and active participation in the town by the elected councillor throughout the four-year period of office, as evident during the election period, could prove to be the norm.
To achieve and maintain such a positive level of representation, may it be suggested that regular monthly surgeries be held, and greater public consultation on issues of concern take place, possibly in the form of public meetings.
Such initiatives would avoid the lack of public awareness over major issues which has been evident of late. High expectations exist among the people of Kington Ward.
