TENANTS of Herefordshire Housing can now access free benefits advice following the appointment of Allan Farrington as tenant support officer.
His role will be to raise awareness of welfare benefits among tenants and staff of the Housing Association. As well as face to face work with individual tenants, it is hoped Allan will do presentations to groups. Currently any group of tenants interested can get in touch with Allan via the Tenants Federation offices on 01432 379077.
Allan will be holding surgeries for tenants with benefit queries. Initially the surgeries will be operated on an 'open door' policy and tenants requiring assistance only need to turn up and wait to be seen. Surgeries, including one based in the South Wye area, will be advertised as and when they are arranged/confirmed.
The first will be held at the Tenants Federation Offices, 49a Widemarsh Street, Hereford on Thursday, May 22 between 10am and 12pm.
