Hereford will be a hive of activity on Saturday when HeARTS - Hereford Advanced Rider Training Scheme - heads for the city on bikes to encourage motorcycling enthusiasts to ride safely.

The HeARTS roadshow, taking place in High Town, Hereford, is part of Herefordshire Community Safety Partnership's response to the national 'Ride and Survive, Scooter Commuter' road safety campaign.

With summer just around the corner, the county's roads will soon become magnets to bikers, who dust off their machines and head out in their droves for the rolling highways of Herefordshire.

Collisions

Statistics prove that more than 90 per cent of motorcycling collisions in the county happen during fine weather and that twice as many occur between May and October, compared to the rest of the year.

Representatives from HeARTS, a member of the partnership's Road Safety Implementation Group, will be on hand to offer advice to motorcyclists and provide information on the scheme which is aimed at anyone wishing to further their biking skills.

HeARTS is run by volunteers who give up their time in a bid to reduce the number of motorcycling casualties across the county's roads.

Courses are held regularly at Withington Village Hall, just outside Hereford. Anyone wishing for further information, course dates and bookings should contact Tony Cahill on 01432 260941.
