REBECCA Young, a member of Hereford Rowing Club, took gold and silver at Ghent International Regatta in Belgium at the weekend.
The 16-year-old has been undergoing trials to represent Great Britain for the Junior World and Coup regattas later this year and was selected to represent the ARA at this regatta.
In a strong field of Junior single scullers, Young finished fourth out of 38, beating her doubles partner Jenny Forrester from Marlow by two secs.
They then joined up to win the gold in the Junior women's double sculls, beating other contenders of the ARA squad on Saturday.
On Sunday the double raced in the senior B event and scooped silver before joining two others to take fourth place in the senior open women's event.
Final assessments are to be held later next month when Young will need to perform well in order to secure a place in the team to represent Great Britain.
This is a big boost for Hereford Rowing Club who also have juniors in Project Oarsome that raced at Coate Water Park at the weekend.
