A GROUP of Herefordshire anglers made a successful trip to Aberdovey to fish on board Miss Claudia, skippered by Charlie Barnett.
After spending some time trying for black bream without success, the skipper moved to his favourite tope mark. Then Robert Anscomb, of Hereford, on only his second trip, had the first run and boated a tope weighing an estimated 40 lbs.
Shortly afterwards Jenny Turley, of Walford, boated a personal best fish, estimated at 47 lbs. Both fish were safely returned after being photographed.
Other species caught included mackerel, red and tub gurnards, whiting, dogfish and dab.
Over a dozen huss were also caught, with Mark Horsburgh, of Wellington, boating a specimen of 18 lbs.
