Orleton-based racing driver Scott Moran took his maiden win in a session of the Tran-X British Hill Climb Championship and his father, Roger, was top points scorer when they contested four rounds at the weekend.

Driving their shared Pilbeam MP88, Roger took a third with 21.78 seconds and fourth with 21.92 at Berbon Manor in Cumbria. Yarkhill driver Deryk Young gained sixth on each run with times of 22.14 and 22.48 seconds.

Then, at Harewood in Yorkshire, Scott took full advantage of an early start position to win the afternoon run-off in 54.22 seconds as rain started falling. Young was fourth on 55.21 and Roger Moran drove to seventh spot on a wet track with 67.31.

Earlier, on a dry track, Roger was fourth on 52.74 and Scott roared to fifth with 53.28.
