MEETING -- The annual meeting of the Kingstone and Thruxton Group Parish Council took place in the village hall on May 7. There were two new councillors present. Harry Cleveland was elected chairman with Tony Capon as vice chairman for the coming year. Representatives to village organisation and charities were appointed. The annual report was circulated and accepted together with the annual accounts, which were approved and adopted. The representative to Kingstone Sports Association reported on the continuing work towards the new changing facilities on the Seven Site playing field. Despite some difficulties it was hoped that work would be going ahead soon and the parish council would now forward the donation of £3,000 which will help with drainage and power connection costs. West Mercia Constabulary is now almost in a position to pilot the Community Speedwatch initiative and Kingstone will be one of the parishes taking part.
