THE name of John Davies, one of two brave firefighters killed in the Sun Valley fire in 1993, has been permanently remembered in Leominster on land where he kicked a football as a boy.
A new development of eight detached houses on the site in Westcroft, near John's childhood home, was recently named John Davies Place.
On Monday, the last of the new residents to move in, Molly Foley, was presented with flowers by the firefighter's parents. The gesture was a way for Joy and Bernard Davies, who live in Westcroft, to welcome the new residents and wish them well for the future.
The presentation was arranged by builders P.E.P. Developments of Kingstone and John Price & Sons who are now busy building homes in Bromyard.
