'PURPLE bags for paper and textiles and clear for cans and plastic bottles', is the message from Herefordshire Council's kerbside collection of recyclable materials.
Although officials are pleased with the 'tremendous response' from participants, there has been a degree of contamination with people putting the wrong materials in the bags. Herefordshire Council's Director of Environment, Graham Dunhill said: "We are thrilled with the excellent response to this scheme but it is vitally important to keep contamination to a minimum.."
