AN INNOVATIVE new youth centre to house youngsters at risk of homelessness has opened in Ross-on-Wye.
The Ross Foyer in Copse Cross Street will house nine 16 to 25-year-olds as well as providing support and access to training and employment schemes.
The foyer, to be known as 'December House', will be managed by Herefordshire's Supported Housing Youth People's Project, which is part of the St John Kemble Housing Association.
Project manager Dave Hilder said: "The intention of the foyer is to enable young people to gain both educational and life skills and to develop their confidence.''
He added: "They can make the transition to full independent living, and access employment and further training opportunities that will enhance their career prospects."
