THE newly formed Here-fordshire County Cricket Clubs XI are playing their inaugural match against Worcestershire CCC 2nd at Wyeside this Sunday at 11am.
The Herefordshire side is being led by Hereford City skipper Nick Denny, who wants county-based players to be given the chance against higher-quality opposition.
Denny said: "Our selection policy will be confined to anyone who is Herefordshire born or plays for a club within the county. Since the demise of the Herefordshire CA XI there is a lack of opportunity for a Herefordshire team to play together above under-21 level."
