'RIDE and survive, scooter commuter', was the message from Hereford Advanced Rider Training Scheme as bikers headed to High Town to promote safer motorcycling on Saturday.

The HeARTS Roadshow took to the city to encourage motorcyclists to ride safely and offer advice as well as providing information to anyone hoping to further their biking skills.

Statistics show that more than 90 per cent of collisions involving bikes in the county occur during fine weather and twice as many take place between May and October compared to any other time of the year.

HeARTS representative, Tony Cahill, said: "Our courses are about keeping motorcyclists on the road, improving skills both practically and in the classroom."

The roadshow was organised to highlight the work of HeARTS and remind other road users of the importance of looking out for motorcyclists whilst travelling around the county.

Anyone hoping for further information should contact Tony Cahill on 01432 260941.
