This June, The Courtyard presents the latest of its acclaimed in-house shows, The Rise And Fall Of Little Voice by Jim Cartwright - the story of a young woman who discovers a startling ability to mimic some of the greatest female singers of the twentieth century.

Winner of the 1992 Evening Standard Best Comedy Award and the 1993 Olivier Award for Best Comedy, it was successfully adapted as a film starring Jane Horrocks and Michael Caine.

The production features a cast that celebrates the experience of established performers as well as the energy and vitality of new talent.

The lead role is played by 20 year-old Jessica Robinson, best-known in Hereford for her performances in Fiddler On The Roof and Sleeping Beauty last year.

Joining Jessica as Billy is Peter Corbett who, although in his first professional theatre engagement, is familiar to Courtyard audiences after memorable turns in the venue's productions of Cabaret, West Side Story and Romeo And Juliet.

Playing the part of Little Voice's alcoholic mother Mari, Geraldine McNulty is famous for her one-woman show Betty at London's Vaudeville Theatre last year and roles in television series My Hero, The Vicar Of Dibley and Absolutely Fabulous.

Carol Robb, whose previous work includes Family Affairs and The Bill, and Guy Manning, who has worked with National Theatre luminaries Nicholas Hytner and Trevor Nunn, take on the roles of Sadie and Ray Say respectively.

The Rise And The Fall Of Little Voice is at The Courtyard from June 5 to 14.
