SPONSORED BED PUSH -- There is to be a sponsored bed push on Saturday, May 31, starting from the Three Salmons at Cross Ash at 11.30 a.m. It will follow the B4521 to Abergavenny and the proceeds will go to Llanvair Cilgoed church and the Grosmont Youth Worker Fund. A group of 13 youngsters, aged 10-15 years, are involved. The idea for the bed push was their own and with guidance they have planned and prepared the event with enthusiasm. They would very much appreciate support at both ends of the push and, if you live along the route, please give them a wave as they pass. They hope to arrive at the Angel Hotel in Abergavenny at about 2pm where they are hoping that Corki the Clown will put in an appearance. Cars are not encouraged to follow the bed push for safety reasons. The youngsters would like to thank all the businesses who have generously supported the event so far and would appreciate any further sponsorship or help. The idea of the fundraising event is to give something back to the church and to improve youth facilities for the children and the bed push is a way of showing their appreciation. Do support them if you can on Saturday, May 31.
