PARISH MEETING -- About 50 people braved the stormy weather to attend an open parish meeting at Middleton-on-the-Hill and Leysters Parish Hall on Monday, May 19. The meeting was the second stage of public consultation as part of a parish plan being prepared by the community. The first stage, completed in January, was a parish questionnaire, when 194 people or 65 per cent of adults living in the parish, gave their views on a range of topics such as housing, roads, education and crime. Further community views were obtained at the open parish meeting and Herefordshire Councillor John Stone officiated at the draw which was used as an incentive for people to complete their questionnaires. The lucky winner received £25. It is aimed that the parish plan itself, together with an action plan, will be published by the autumn.
