Kington COURT -- The centre was opened on Friday, May 16 when tributes were made to the late Mary Harding-Roberts who fought so hard for the old hospital and its replacement.

ACTION FUND -- During the opening of Kington Court, the former Kington Hospital group invited local people to suggest ways of spending the residue of the fund. The residue is in the region of £8,000. The opening day brought in 365 suggestions. Any person living in the Kington area can still make suggestions by visiting Marches Credit Union at 16 Bridge St, Kington.

AIR AMBULANCE -- The concert by of the North Wales Male Voice Choir and soloists, Trevor Wyn Roberts and Alwyn Humpheries, held at Gladestry was a huge success. Richard Hughes, the organiser, said that more than £4,000 had been raised.

FETE -- Kington Baptist Church summer fete will be held on the afternoon of Saturday, May 31 at Kington Town football club.

CUP -- The Mitchell-Hamer cup will be held at Kington Town football club today from 9.30 am onwards. These are the area football finals for west Herefordshire for boys up to 11 years of age. The girls of the same age group will play netball on the same day and time at Lady Hawkins' School.
