ANNUAL MEETING -- The Kilpeck Group of Parishes held their annual meetings in the Wormbridge Centre on May 12. In her opening remarks, the chairman, Mrs Davies, paid tribute to the efforts of Mr and Mrs Edward Clive and Leanne Piggott for their efforts in establishing the Wormbridge Centre as a centre for community activities. Mrs Davies also welcomed Phillip Turpin, the newly-elected councillor for the Valletts ward, and her fellow parish councillors who were returned un-opposed. Mrs Piggott said she would like to receive any photographs or memorabilia in order to establish a history of the centre. In the following annual general meeting of the group parish council, the officers presented their reports that were adopted and the officers were unanimously re-elected as were the delegates to local organisations. The clerk was given a mandate to pay the parish lengthsman. In the parish council meeting that followed the annual general meeting there was the usual litter of correspondence, a letter from the village hall committee, a Woodland grant scheme were discussed and a number of invoices approved for payment. It was agreed to pay an invoice for the village hall committee. During parish matters the issue of Marlas Lane was once again raised, this work is in hand. Concern was also raised about the development at Ellis Lands. The clerk informed members that this was being closely monitored by the planning authorities. The next meeting has been arranged for Monday, June 30 at 7-30pm.
