Shobdon Primary is a small school with a big heart say education inspectors.
In a glowing report an OFSTED team said: "The hallmark of the school is its intimate, friendly atmosphere characterised by the very good relationships which exist between pupils and staff."
The inspectors found that Shobdon's 63 pupils love going to school. The youngsters were thriving and achieving above average standards in the core subjects of English, maths and science.
Staff were given a pat on the back for the quality of their teaching and headteacher Trevor Nickerson praised for his 'very good leadership'.
Shobdon gained a School Achievement Award in 2002 in recognition of its rising standards.
Mr Nickerson welcomed the OFSTED verdict, and said teamwork was the key to success. Staff, parents and governors were working together.
