ONE man died and another was seriously injured in a road accident at Harewood End on Friday afternoon.
John Richard Chappell, 56, from Cinderford sustained fatal injuries in the accident at 12.15pm. He was pronounced dead at the scene on the A49. His car, a gold Vauxhall Cavalier, was in collision with a black Ford Escort. The cars were believed to have collided head on.
The driver of the Ford was cut from his car and taken to Hereford County Hospital where his condition is described as stable.
All three emergency services attended the scene of the accident closing off the road for five hours. Anyone who witnessed the accident should call Hereford Police on 08457 444888.
