FIREFIGHTERS in Ross-on-Wye held their most successful open day ever when more than 100 people visited the station to meet the men and women serving the town on May 17.
The retained fire fighters gave fire safety advice to young and old and showed some of the obstacles they have to overcome when dealing with a road accident.
On a less serious note, fire fighters were soaked in the stocks and a barbecue raised £206 for the Fire Brigade Benevolent Fund.
