Amcor Flexibles is undergoing expansion at its Lower Road site.

Management believe the firm is now the biggest employer in Ledbury, with 328 workers on its books and more to come.

A total of 40 workers have been taken on in the last five months alone, and 22 employees have relocated from Bristol.

The business has just upgraded its office block into an open plan design on the first floor, as part of a multi-million pound investment programme.

This summer it will introduce a new printing press for wrappers and bags used in the food industry, such as bread bags.

Amcor's human resources manager Helen Rogers said the firm hoped to take on another 12 staff at a recruitment open day on June 3 from 10am to 6pm.

Amcor took over the Rexam Viking site in April last year and immediately announced its programme of expansion.

Ledbury was chosen because the firm's earlier plant in Bristol did not offer the same opportunities, in terms of space, for expansion.
