The Market Surgery cycle ride has achieved its target by raising £1,500 towards the cost of a new heart defibrillator.
The other £1,500 needed will be contributed by the British Heart Foundation.
Dr Rob Davies, of the Market Surgery, said: "We had an excellent day, with 29 cyclists taking part and the majority tackling the long 18 mile course. We had an 85-year-old cyclist, who did the shorter course.
"Everyone has been very generous with their sponsorship. Now we are looking towards an annual cycle ride from the Market Surgery, for other good causes."
The new defibrillator, which administers an electric current to re-start hearts, is fully automated and can be used by anyone in an emergency.
