Refurbishment of the Nicholson Organ at St John the Baptist Church, Eastnor, is due to start in October 2004.
The work is scheduled to be finished by January 2005, at an overall cost of £25,300.
John Nicholson, who started up in 1841, was a celebrated Victorian organ builder. The firm is still in Malvern.
The church has applied to 29 different bodies for grant aid, and so far £2,250 has been raised. The outcome of the application to the Heritage Lottery Fund is still awaited.
The organ was donated by the 3rd Lord Somers, towards the end of the 19th Century.
