Firefighters took just an hour to deal with a blaze in a paint storage building at Knapp Farm, Pixley.

Two appliances from Ledbury answered the call, plus another from Hereford.

The presence of the turn-table ladder was also requested, to allow firefighters to get above the flames.

Ledbury sub-officer Terry Phillips said: "Flames were shooting through the roof of the building on our arrival."

Four sets of breathing apparatus were issued and firefighters forced doors to gain access. Once inside, they activated automatic shutter doors to ventilate the building.

A total of 25sq metres of the building was destroyed by flames. The rest, and an adjoining building, some 600sq metres in total, was heavily smoked damaged.

The cause of the blaze, at 7.44am on Saturday, is still unknown.
