Ledbury Town Crier William Turberfield came 58th at the World Town Criers Championships at Newquay in Cornwall.
He came back with a certificate and an invitation to participate in the next event in Queensland, Australia in 2005.
Mr Turberfield was up against 96 criers from around the world, including Canada, Australia and the Netherlands.
