Saturday's Ledbury in Bloom litter pick is being hailed as a success by organisers.
Around 25 people braved the rain to turn up, including the mayor of Ledbury, Coun Keith Francis.
The chairman of Ledbury in Bloom, Tom Deane, said: "The weather was really miserable to start with and we almost called it off at 9.30am. But the event was very satisfactory and I was pleased it was a day for the youngsters, with Urchins and the Brownies taking part."
Afterwards, the workers were treated to a barbecue outside the youth centre.
A group from John Masefield High School was unable to make it, but the school has promised to organise its own litter pick on a date to be arranged.
Mr Deane said: "On the day, as well as normal litter, we picked up a microwave, a television and a supermarket trolley.
"However, there has been a marked improvement in the level of litter in the town since we started our clean-up campaign."
