THE new chair of the West Mercia Police Authority has been elected.
Robert Forster, of Telford, replaces Joyce Thomas, who has retired after 10 years' service with the authority.
Ross-on-Wye school teacher Paul Deneen was elected vice chair. He has been a member in his capacity as a local magistrate since December 2000 and is currently chair of its planning and resources panel. He is also a member of Hereford Community Policing Board and the chair of Herefordshire Youth Court.
Peter Dunford, a business manager from Goodrich, has been appointed as an independent member of the authority.
