There will be a plant sale under Newent Market Hall tomorrow (Saturday) from 10am to noon, to raise funds for the Cardiomyopathy Association.

Organisers have chosen the charity to draw attention to a mystery illness that tends to affect young people.

There are various forms of the illness, but in many cases it is progressive and is characterised by a disruption of the heart's rhythm and the organ's inability to pump blood. Often transplants are the only way to save seriously affected youngsters.

In many cases, the exact cause of the complaint is never discovered.
