A SCHEME to ban drinking on Bromyard's streets is being considered.
A ban on consumption of alcohol in public areas in much of the town centre is being asked for by Bromyard and Winslow Town Council.
The request has gone to Herefordshire Council, which has the power to allow or refuse it and will also pay for it.
Restrictions in outlying areas, including Hatton Park, Flaggoner's Green and the by-pass subway will also be recommended.
If allowed, the scheme could be introduced in six months.
