Valley get off the mark with away win

Ross United Services maintained their perfect Under-9 record but conceded their first goal of the league season at FC Sporting Phoenix. Ledbury Swifts kept in touch with a close win over visiting Westfields, while Leominster Minors made no mistake with a home win over FC Phoenix Jets.

Top of the Under-10 Division table Ross United Services were well in control and led 2-0 with just five minutes remaining against Leominster Minors 2-0. But a spirited comeback by Minors enabled them to draw 2-2. Ledbury Swifts took full advantage to claim the leaders' position with a 4-2 victory over Lads Club Villa. Marsh, the Lads Club keeper, will remember the occasion, scoring from a clearance from his own penalty area.

In the game of the day in the Under-14 Division, Hereford Junior Dynamos lost their 100 per cent record to Wellington with a home defeat.

Wellington, in second place, opened up a three-point gap over their rivals but have played two more games. In the clash between the two bottom teams, Longtown gained a close 2-1 win at FC Phoenix.

Credenhill maintain their chances of Under-12 Division honours with a well-earned victory over Kington Town Colts. Hinton were again the high scorers in the Division, registering 12 goals without reply against Wellington to keep in touch with the leaders. Orleton's impressive season continued with a 5-0 win at FC Phoenix. At the top both Kington Town and Lads Club Colts gained comfortable wins. At the other end of the table Belmont Falcons gained their first win - 2-0 win over Westfields.

Two teams on the fringe of the top positions in the Under-13 Division clashed at Bromyard Town who overcame Lads Club Colts 2-1.

Another big game, this time in the Under-15 Division, saw Leominster Minors overcome Bartestree 2-1 and move into fourth place behind their rivals and Pegasus Juniors, who were without a game.

Top-of-the-table Lads Club maintained their 100 per cent record with a comfortable win over Hay-on-Wye.

All the scheduled Under 16 games were postponed, mainly because of teams providing players for the county representative team.
