WITH three of its teams in the WFA Sunday Minor Cup, The Soccer Site Malvern League had hopes that at least one club would get through to the last 16 to fly the flag for the league.

In fact, both Talbot Head and Morgan Aero 8 did the league proud by both winning through.

Talbot Head visited Lower Moor United and must have feared the worst when they were pulled back from a 2-0 lead to 2-2 before getting well on top and finishing strongly running out victors by 6-2. Their goals came from Thomas Hofton, Rob Merrick and two each from Adam Heath and Dave Schooling.

Morgan Aero 8 were involved in a much tighter contest when they visited Wickhamford, with play being quite even both sides had chances with the visitors being grateful to man of the match Matt Isley who put in a commanding performance in the middle of the Morgan defence in his first game back after a long suspension.

Despite the prompting of Morgan Aero 8's Richard Bird it appeared the game was heading for extra time, as had happened to Morgan in the previous round, before Marcus Eden popped up in the 80th minute to head home from close range to send a very happy Morgan Aero 8 side through to the next round.

The other league side in the third round were Club AC 30 and they came within two minutes of going through. Jonathan Creba gave them the lead in the 15th minute before they were unfortunate to be reduced to 10 men. Despite this handicap they battled hard before suffering the heartache of conceding an equaliser in the 88th minute to send the game into extra time.

The extra man proved too much in extra time and Claines netted three more times to end Club AC 30's hopes.

In Division One it was business as usual for the top two teams as they continued their winning ways. Oak Allstars must have wondered if a shock was in store when they only led visitors AFC Grovesnor by 3-2 at half time.

Oak Allstars turned up the power in the second half and finished comfortable 10-2 victors. Their goals came from David Zakotti, Zekley Coral, Mark Smith, and a Mark Toman hat-trick plus almost inevitably another four goals from Jamie James.

Bishops Frome kept pace with the leaders with a comfortable 5-1 victory when they entertained Kempsey United A. Bishops Frome's goals came from Darren Lynch, Neil Berry, Garry Nott and two from their prolific scorer Stewart Graham with the visitors reply coming from Lee Williams.

Division Two leaders Bell Inn 98 took advantage of the teams below them not playing to increase their lead when they visited Perowne Park Rangers and took the points by virtue of a 4-0 victory. The young Perowne side gave another excellent performance following their victory over high flying Cross Keys the previous week and thanks to a penalty save by their keeper Stuart Pawson they restricted Bell Inn to a single goal until the last 10 minutes when they conceded a further three. Ashley Jones and a Nicky Welch hat-trick were the visitor's scorers.

For the second week running Cross Keys were well beaten by a team below them when they went down 1-5 at home to Vauxhall AFC whose goals came from James Hughes, Carl Gurney, Darren Ravenhill, and two from Jason Drummond with Cross Keys solitary reply coming from Mark Howells.

The other game in Division Two saw Cavalry Arms win 5-1 at Great Malvern Hotel.

Following the participation of three of its teams in the WFA Cup round three last week it is the turn of Bishops Frome, Bell Inn 98 and Dynamo Ledbury to fly the flag for the league in the HFA Cup round three this week with hopefully all three teams going through to the competitions last 16.
