THREE months of hard fund-raising by City of Hereford Rotarians has totalled a massive £2,412 for good causes. Songs from the Shows with Hereford Amateur Operatic Society was not only a great evening of fun and entertainment with this talented group, it also made £330 while members who spent Saturdays shaking buckets at various supermarkets and in High Town, brought in a further £2,081 - the people of Hereford are generous indeed. This means that the City of Hereford Rotary Club has been able to donate £600 to Trinity School, Hereford; £400 to the Martha Trust; £500 to Freda Pearce Nurses Fund for St Michael's Hospice and £300 to REMIT. But there's been plenty of other lively entertainment too with guest speakers at fortnightly evening meetings on such diverse topics as living in Antarctica to being Mayor of Hereford, taking part in a district quiz, joint special events with other clubs, planning for next week's Christmas lunch and arranging help for the less fortunate at the festive period.
