St Mary's Church - Sunday at 10am Toy Service. If you are able to bring new toys suitable for ages 4-16 they will be donated to the Marches Family Network who work with and for children with disabilities/special needs and their families. This is an ideal opportunity to help the less fortunate this Christmas. Choir practice will be in the church next Wednesday at 7.30pm. The much sought after St Mary's choir will be visiting some of the outlying parts of the village on Monday.

Carols on the Green - 7pm on Thursday, December 18, outside the Crown Inn for this magical evening when the parish council and St Mary's choir combine to present an evening to remember with special items from the children of Dilwyn School. There is a sing-a-long and Santa will be in his grotto while food will be available from the Crown Inn and the history capsule will be opened for new material to be put inside. Proceeds to Herefordshire Association for the Blind.

Royal British Legion - Friday, December 19, at 7.30pm in the Cedar Hall. Play starts at 8pm. A Christmas special with grand draw, major prizes and refreshments, in aid of Dilwyn RBL charities.

Flicks in the Sticks - Tomorrow (Friday) at 7.30pm in the Cedar Hall, Nicholas Nickleby (PG). A young compassionate man struggles to save his family and friends from the abusive exploitation of his cold heartedly grasping uncle. A sparkling Dickensian effort.

Dilwyn School - 'Oscar worthy', confident performances by all the children of the thriving village school delighted villagers and parents last week. Aladdin dreamed of being rich enough to marry his vision of loveliness Princess Yum Yum, whilst the social climbing Empress misguidedly had her eye on the evil villain Hum Drum Loo as a husband for her daughter. Genie arrived nimbly on cue to save Aladdin. Excellent scenery, wardrobe and make-up complimented by headmaster Mr Matthew's selection of music.
