Ludlow Town Reserves 3 Leominster Town 0

AFTER competing well in the first half, Leominster found their local rivals too much of a handful after the break, as the Shropshire outfit ran out comfortable winners in this West Midlands League Division 1 South fixture.

Chances were at a premium during an evenly contested first half. Leominster posed a threat when they attacked down the middle but Neil Bennett and Daniel Stack fired over the bar with the two best chances. Ludlow looked more dangerous down the flank and took the lead in the latter stages of the half when Howard Shearing netted with a header from a deep cross.

After early attacks from the visitors had been repelled, the home team took control. Leominster defended resolutely until midway through the half when Wes Evans, under pressure from the home forwards, placed his attempted headed clearance past his own keeper.

Apart from one effort from Stack that was saved by the home keeper, it was backs to the wall for Leominster. They coped quite well, but one piece of slack marking resulted in Adam Bowen completing the scoring.
