A Ledbury teenager has been recognised for her dedication in working with young people.
Former John Masefield High School pupil Laura Adams was presented with this year's Young Person Community Service Award by Ledbury Rotary Club for nearly five years of volunteer work with Ledbury Youth First.
Laura, 19, works at the Malvern Hills Science Park and as a part-time youth worker.
Her work recently included the Rural Outreach Project, when Laura and her colleagues travelled to areas such as Much Marcle and Cradley, rather than the local children having to travel into Ledbury.
She said she was not expecting to win anything.
"I was surprised to say the least, but really happy," she said. "I don't do my voluntary work to get credit but it's nice when someone recognises what I do.
"I just enjoy doing it, it doesn't seem like a job to me. I like working with young people and seeing projects through to the end."
She received a certificate and £25 from the Rotary Club. The award is an annual one given to someone nominated as having made an important contribution to the community.
