CHILDREN from Ledbury Primary School are preparing to stage a musical interpretation of the Christmas story.

More than 200 pupils are taking part in Witness, which tells the story of the birth of Christ through the eyes of those who were there.

The piece will be performed by Key Stage Two pupils, aged eight to 11. The school choir will also be taking part in the production, at St Michael and All Angels' Church, Ledbury, on Wednesday (December 17), at 6pm.

Meanwhile, John Masefield High School pupils will be be holding their carol service at the church on Thursday, at 7pm.

As well as the traditional lessons and readings, there will be performances from the school orchestra and choirs, as well as dance and drama recitals. The congregation will be invited to join in with a selection of carols.

Martyn Moxley, head of arts at the school, said everyone was welcome to attend.

"We would be expecting parents and friends of the school to support us but the whole community is invited as well," he said.
