FRAMED mementos of Ledbury Town Football Club's biggest ever game have been hung on the wall of the club.

A Manchester United pennant and a Ledbury shirt signed by the opposing players have been preserved following the match between the two sides last month.

The game was played in Ledbury in remembrance of three members of the McCoig-Lees family, who died in a minibus crash near Manchester earlier this year.

Ledbury chairman Chris Stephens said the game had been the biggest occasion the club had ever seen, and the framed shirt and pennant would be a reminder to future visitors.

"It was a big occasion for the people of Ledbury and the players that played against them," he said.

"It's something that they wouldn't expect in their footballing careers."

Manchester United offered to play a game in the town after Martin and Denise McCoig-Lees and their son Ryan died when the minibus they were in crashed on the M56 in July, as they were going on holiday.

More than £10,000 was raised for charity by the game, which Manchester United won 4-2.
