Bromyard, already missing a number of regular players, were further hampered just after the hour mark when goalkeeper Adie Hipkiss was dismissed for arguing with the officials.

NEWPORT TOWN 1, BROMYARD TOWN 1

At the time they were level at 1-1, but Newport added two goals in the final ten minutes to secure the West Midlands League Premier Division Point.

The visitors took the field with a number of youth team players in their squad, but it made little difference to their rhythm as they took the lead in the fourth minute. Alex Kilgour headed home from a corner.

They held the lead until the 65th minute when Newport equalised with a hotly disputed goal. Bromyard complained that the ball had gone well out of play during the build up to the goal. They were double loser as the goal stood and Hipkiss received his marching orders for his protests.

The home team made the most of their numerical advantage and Bromyard were left to lick their wounds after enjoying control for a long period.

Tomorrow (Saturday) Bromyard Town are away at Coseley Town (2.45) in a league fixture.
