Ledbury gave a fine display of hockey when they entertained Bishops at home in the U16s Badgers League.

LEDBURY BOYS U16s 0, BISHOPS 5

Past games with their local rivals have seen massive defeats, but this time it was only a creditable five goals.

Even with Bishops' polished performance they found it difficult to break Ledbury's defence, who were all girls.

Ledbury's midfield players managed to feed many balls towards Bishops' goal mouth, finally leading to Ledbury managing an unsuccessful shot following a penalty corner.

Despite a fine display of goalkeeping and many last ditch tackles from the defenders, Bishops led 4-0 at half time.

In the second half Bishops' superior fitness and skill started to show but they were unable to break the defence of Vicky Metcalfe, Michelle Plenderleigh, Laura Entwistle, Alice Wood and the Keeper Sophie Wood.

The remainder of the team consisted of Sam Jennings, Luke Taylor, Ed & Stuart Hands, Tom Beard, Mark Cox and Rob Smith.

The club is looking to recruit new members especially U16 boys who would like to play matches on a Sunday afternoon.
