THE Rotary National President brought a different flavour to community work when he visited Hereford as part of his nationwide tour.

Brian Stoyel, from the Saltash club, dropped in on Hereford Wye Valley Rotarians at their annual 'tin' collection at the city's Safeway supermarket and lent a hand.

The club collected nearly 3,000 tins and other non-perishable food items during their day's collection. These were later distributed to various city organisations, including the Hollybush Family Centre, SAFFA, Age Concern, Women's Refuge and Open Door.

The RIBI (Rotary International Britain and Ireland) president met many other club members from the county at a get-together dinner night held at Pengethly. During the evening he accepted cheques for his preferred charity - REMIT (Rotarians Against Malaria In Tanzania).

Wye Valley Rotarians also joined with Hereford Inner Wheel members for a dinner and concert in Bredenbury Village Hall.
